Fake summer

Well, we are having 70 degree weather in mid January. This is supposed to be the wettest month for us and it feels like spring going on summer.
So my daughter, as serious as can be asks on Sunday (during our beautiful weather) if we could set up the slip and slide. Totally serious. We all laughed and said how cute. But she was totally serious, straight faced. I took her outside and said, "Look......uh, hmmm........it's actually not too bad out." We didn't though.
Probably should have.
I will next time.

Gillian asked the question on Sunday, actually just informed me "mom, ashley and i are going swimming". WHAT???? are you kidding me? she said "it's 60 degrees in the pool, that's plenty warm". i should've let her have her own life lesson that day...

My kids DID get out their giant blow up waterslide. They were totally blissed out and never mentioned anything about being cold. My thoughts on that?......

They were numb.......WITH JOY!!!!

Slip N' slide-$25.00

Water bill-$40.00

Watching your children w/blue lips and a twinkle in their eyes? Priceless...

Let 'em freeze, they'll either want to go in, or have more fun, hypothermia be damned

Caelia actually asked to go in the pool right after we had 12 inches of snow! It was 26 degrees outside and even opening the door didn't not convince her that swimming was out. I filled up the tub and put her suit on! Today it was 82 degrees and she said it was too warm and wanted the mall! We went shopping instead.
