No Promises

I don't like New Years Resolutions. They are just lies you tell yourself. Goals you set only to break 3 weeks later. Unless you are freakishly devoted and you hang in there, then hats off to you. Having goals are just fine. Everybody should have goals I guess. I have learned the goals I set before me are sometimes not the goals God has for me.

I'm 34. I feel old by age. I feel young when I think of where I am in life. I'm the young buck in my industry with tons of energy and experience to be had. My goals? Easy!

-To do Gods work.
-To trust that He knows best the path before me.
-To answer when God calls me to action.
-Take care of my body. As soon as my Vitamin D comes back out (sunshine) then I'll get back in the gym and start running and eating way better.
-Spend valuable time with my son one on one (camping, fishing, hiking).

These are not goals for 2009.
Maybe the last one is.
The rest is just how I view this life.
Why resist when you know what's expected of you from God?

Ahh, too tired to sort through these thoughts.
I'm excited to get on with life.

I have this thought of the perfect Life Group...yep, you're in it with me.

The Life Group name: Underground Missions.
It will happen soon. Right now I have to clear my plate (traffic school & smog the truck). Not easy to do with my schedule.

shessh, good nite.

Reporting for Duty SIR! (Salutes) where's my rack and where do I put my gear? Apparently we're on a classified, underground mission. I'm skilled in schmoozing donors, cajoling volunteers, and berating the lazy. I'll need a phone, a desk, a chair, and a mission statement. I'll put the coffee pot over there (points) and someone call dunkin...apparently, this country runs on donuts

You have a great heart, a great church (that's an understatement!) and an overwhelming since of peoples need for Christ. You aren't afraid to get down and dirty, love the unloveable, go where no man has dared to go before...Enjoy the adventure you are about to embark on, for it is the journey God has set before you. I don't have a phone, a desk, or a chair, but I have my coffee and my knees, from a distance, I will always pray that God works through you.
