A few weeks ago we bought our kayaks. We finally got them wet last weekend out at Brandy Creek. It was a great time, but we both realized that they were so hard to maneuver as we each had a kid with us. The kids were very uncomfortable as well.
We had our hearts set on really nice kayaks and we settled for entry level kayaks hoping to fulfill that desire we had.
Today Penguin Paddlers, the place which we were buying our kayaks had a Chamber of Commerce meeting and I noticed they had the ones I originally wanted. I had only seen them prior in catalogs and online. To see it in person made me realize that I really did want it.
So get this, the offered to let me trade them in. So I traded in one and paid the difference.
How is that for customer service? I will definitely be back to upgrade the other. The yellow Hobie kayak is so much better than the red Spitfire. It's called a Spitfire because that's what I do when I try to paddle it. The red one is like a golf cart, fun to drive, but slow, not fancy, hard to steer. The yellow Hobie is like a sports car. Fast, wonderful features. It is a huge difference.
We took them out tonight. We had dinner on an island 15 minutes from the shore. The kids loved it. I know we are building awesome memories for them.
So happy.
